The expansion to daily services will see the total number of SilkAir seats per week from Cairns to Singapore increase by 40%.Singapore Airlines Regional Vice President South West Pacific, Mr Philip Goh, said the increase was testament to the demand for both inbound and outbound travel to Far North Queensland.“We’ve seen a sustained increase in demand for flights from Cairns to Singapore and beyond, and we’re excited to be able to offer daily services to our customers in northern Queensland,” Mr Goh said.“Since launching our Cairns service four years ago on a circular routing via Darwin three times per week, we’ve grown steadily to daily, thanks to the tremendous support of our customers and partners, Cairns Airport, Tourism and Events Queensland and Tourism Tropical North Queensland.SilkAir’s investment in northern Australia will continue from 6 July 2019 with the introduction of a seventh weekly service from Darwin to Singapore.last_img
